STEVE SHELLEY is British and has worked in Africa for more than 25 years. A former PWC director, his extensive experience encompasses strategic planning, training, research and business management. He is the author of 'Doing Business in Africa'(New Holland, Cape Town, 2004).

ROSE NYARANGI has ten years experience with TACKAfrica with a particular emphasis on skill building, performance management and events management. Her own capability encompasses competency and personality assessment, management training and leadership development. With a background in sales, Rose also leads TACK's selling skills training programmes.

TACK was commissioned to develop a coaching-based performance management system and to train all staff in its implementation. The aim was to support major change in management style and corporate culture. We developed a unique 'Manager as Coach' course as well as an objectives-based appraisal system.

Unilever East Africa
This global multi-national appointed TACK as its preferred management skills training provider and we have delivered a range of specially produced courses to Unilever companies in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Malawi.

Standard Group, Kenya
To hehlp merge the cultures of the KTN television station the The Standard Newspaper, TACK developed and ran a change programme for all 600 employees of the group. As well as team building, the programme provided an input of skills and approaches to use in implementing change.

Vodacom, Tanzania
Over several years, TACK conducted a series of Assessment Centres for management trainees to identify personal development needs and to assist in succession planning. A comprehensive modular management development programme, tailored to the needs of each individual,was delivered based on the results.

United Nations Country Team for Tanzania
After receiving a glowing accolade for running a UNDP team building retreat, TACK directors were invited to facilitate an annual strategy review for the heads of all the UN agencies in Tanzania to help develop proprities in their engagement with the government. We subsequently ran a similar event for the heads of the UN agencies in Kenya.

Rand Merchant Bank, South Africa
Following a lecture tour based on his book, Doing Business in Africa, TACK MD Steve Shelley was asked by this bank to research the potential for expanding their trade finance operations into East and West Africa.

TANESCO
TACK was awarded a contract to run a Training Needs Assessment programme for this Tanzanian power corporation. We were also asked to provided an objective recruitment screening process for all senior staff hired as part of the organisation's restructuring.
